Meet Dan Edmiston

OWNER OF EDMISTON ENTERPRISES, LLC

Growing up in the San Diego, CA, Daniel Edmiston always had a curiosity of what made things tick. When others saw a broken piece of equipment as trash he saw a reverse engineering opportunity.

At his first full time job, as a custom motorcycle mechanic, customers were able to benefit from Daniel’s troubleshooting expertise and from his inventive and creative skills.

At Rohr Industries in Chula Vista, CA, Daniel learned how aircraft function at the component level while working as a Functional Test Inspector.

Experience in a wide variety of systems was gained in the shipbuilding and repair industry while working for Pepper Industries of National City, CA. As a production supervisor Daniel traveled for extended stays in Hawaii, Guam, the gulf coast, and the east coast. Daniel Edmiston continued to gain extensive hands on experience in a variety of mechanical systems and their controls while working in environments where continuous improvement was emphasized. Daniel has consistently provided his employers with innovative ideas for improving quality and production.

In 2011, Daniel made the decision it was time to use his inventiveness, along with the depth of knowledge gained over the years, to develop products that would benefit others and not just his employers. With a passion for alternative energy, work started on learning about wind power. In September of 2013, Daniel filed his first patent application for a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine design.

In March of 2015, Daniel began converting an old welding shop into a product development studio with fabrication and testing capability, and in October of 2015 Edmiston Enterprises LLC was born.

In May of 2016, construction started on a wind tunnel designed by Daniel Edmiston. The wind tunnel is to serve as a test platform for the wind turbine and other patent pending products.
